Historical definition of SCRIOFULAIRE s. f.
Espece d'herbe, ou ortie puante qu'on appelle aussi herbe aux chats, & qu'on croit guerir les escroüelles. Les Medecins la nomment galeopsis, urtica, labeo, scrophularia major, ficaria, millemorbia, castrangula. La petite chelidoine ou esclaire est appellée scrophularia minor.
