Historical definition of THONNINE s. f.
Chair de thon couppée & salée. La thonnine la plus maigre est la meilleure. Dans les jours caniculaires il fait dangereux d'en manger, à cause que les thons sont alors picquez d'un certain aiguillon comme une mousche, qui les rend si furieux, qu'il les fait quelquefois sauter dans les vaisseaux.
