Licou de monture. Ce mot est vieux, & vient de chef. Nicod. En Latin capistrum, capistragium. CHEVESTRE, en termes de Charpenterie, est la piece de bois qui soustient les solives coupées à l'endroit de la cheminée pour donner passage aux tuyaux, & empescher que l'atre ne pose sur du bois à cause du danger du feu. Le chevestre doit estre esloigné de trois pieds du mur.
